A couple of years ago, John Wheeler, designer of the Inside Edge Backsaver, needed a back support specifically designed for use in water.
A keen surfer, John was recovering from severe lower back damage and needed support and help to reduce lower back twisting while doing lap work in the pool. Of course, there are many other lower back supports on the market, but none met John’s requirements for long-term use in a range of aquatic conditions.
After refining his initial idea over 18 months and many prototypes, John settled on the design that is now the Inside Edge Backsaver.
Now, thanks to plenty of time in the gym and the pool (with Inside Edge
Backsaver helping to hold everything together in and out of the water)
John has avoided the scalpel and is back on his surfboard.
The Inside Edge
Backsaver actually looks good! It’s constructed of high quality 2mm plush
wetsuit neoprene, with a 1.5mm ‘second stage’ that allows infinite adjustment
of tension, and a small 'spine' of 10mm thick high-density closed cell
foam for extra support. Even if the belt is fully tensioned, there is
still flexibility for the wearer.
Of
course, the thermal quality of the fabric helps keep your kidneys warm
too.
Whether sailing, surfing or swimming, Inside Edge Backsaver is designed to give extra back support, especially for water-based sports, and can be worn under or over your wetsuit or rashy.
